Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

getting my son back

My 2 yr. old son lives with his father in CT. I live in MI. Shortly after he went to stay with his father a year ago, the Connecticut child protective services took him away due to a seizure they thought was related to child abuse. When they finally gave my son back to his father, somehow supposedly, I lost my custody rights. Please tell me where I would begin to fight for joint custody. Please help; I miss my son so much.

Re: getting my son back

Greetings; You will be required to file for custody in the state where the child resides. According to your letter that state is CT. Therefore, you will want to contact an attorney in CT. A Michigan attorney can not file a case outside of the state unless that attorney is licensed in both states. I wish you luck. Many thanks, Atty. Trichler; www.trichler.com
