Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

My sons father has a law suit pending....Does Child support know about it? And, if they do, what happens to the money he recieves? Does Child support eat it up and distrubute it among the Mothers of his children? Does Child support even know? Do I have to call and tell them?

I do not believe that any money he receives from a lawsuit would be taken away from him by the state unless he owes a child support arrearage. If he is up to date on his child support then the mothers of his children are not entitled to those monies. If he owes an arrearage, then you can file a motion with the court and ask the court to order the money given to you to satisfy the arrearage. The state most likely does not know about the lawsuit.
