Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut
I stopped working when I was put on bed rest during pregnancy with twins. After they were born 6 months ago, my husband decided that I should stay home and take care of them and I also go to school online. After a year of marriage, he is now filing for divorce. I am totally financially dependent on him. I have no money to afford a lawyer, can I hire a lawyer and have him pay my legal fees? I am also scared that because I don't work or have money I will lose custody of my babies. I have no other reason to fear losing custody, I am a good mom with no criminal history. What are my options for custody and would it be possible for me to get Alimony or some sort of spousal support. It is his house, he bought it long before we got married.

Even though it is a very short marriage, the fact the children are so young may entitle you to some alimony. You are also entitled to child support. Does he have any money to pay legal fees? If he does, a court could award you fees as well.
Lack of a job or money under your circumstances is not enough to lose custody.
You most likely could stay in the house until the financial situation is either agreed upon or court ordered so that you would have enough money to move, assuming he wants to keep the house.
