Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Taking my son on vacation to Turkey

My ex-husband (non-custodial parent) wants to take our son (5 years old) to vacation in Turkey. Currently the court order doesn't even have a vacation provision. However, if this were to change, would he be able to take him there even if I object? Turkey is a highly terrorist country with bombings and shootings happening randomly and frequently all over the place. Would this be a good reason for a judge not to grant this trip?

Re: Taking my son on vacation to Turkey

Although I haven't actually reviewed the percentage of terrorist activity in Turkey, assuming you can provide these statistics and information, I agree that a judge would most likely not agree to allow this trip, especially considering your son is only five (5) years old.

You should file a motion to modify the decree to include a vacation/out of the country provision that may in certain circumstances require your agreement.

Disney world sounds like a better idea.
