Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

Unmarried couple now separated with one child

I want to relocate to Florida with my daughter, from CT. Her father, who has not ever filed to get any legal custody or visitation is trying to make me stay. I am her primary caregiver and she has legal residence with me. He sees her 4 days a month, and is always in arrearage with his child support payments. Can he do anything, does he have any legal standing without custody?

Generally, in order to relocated your daughter to another state you either need an agreement of the other party or a court order to do so. As to the last part of your question, yes, he can contest your relocation since it effects his daughter.
