visitation

dad has visitation this weekend. He Left message saying he has either lyme disease or swine flu. How can I legally keep the kids away for this weekend so they arent infected? Dad is living in Connecticut, I am in NH

Did he say what the purpose of his message was? Sounds like he isn't going forward with the visitation, otherwise why would he leave the message. Anyway, I never heard of anyone catching lyme disease from another person. I would think it's easy enough to determine if he has swine flu. Why don't you call him back and talk to him about it.

Otherwise, you would have to come here today before 5 p.m. and file a motion to stop the visitation. The alternative is to not send the children. However, if you don't send them and there is a court order giving him visitation this weekend, you could be held in contempt of court for violating the court order. I say "could" because I really can't give an opinion without knowing more about your case.
