visitation in prison
Would a court order me to bring my daughter, who is 18 months old to jail for visitation with her father, who's probably going to be there for the next 10 years?

I will add, that if I were you, and you have concerns about the effect visitation in prison will have on your child, that you should request that a guardian ad litem be appointed to represent your child's best interests. An independent attorney will be appointed to review the situation and make a recommendation to the court on whether visitation is in your child's best interest.

A court could order visitation, but it depends on a number of factors, such as age, the reason the father is in jail and what has he done there to show that visitation would not affect the child in a negative manner. There are many factors that the Judge must consider, however, it basically comes down to what is in the best interest of the child. Tom Noonan
