Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut
My x-wife is living with her boyfriend. What will the court accept for proof of cohabitation?
She claims she can say she is renting a room from her boyfriend? She has been in relations with him for 2 years but has lost the home she was awarded from the court and moved in with him.
She doesnt know I am aware of this because she has requested I send her Pension payments to a PO BOX?
I am planning on sending her Pension payments to her new residents certified? Will this help or can you suggest another avenue to prove she is cohabiting?
My divorce decree states cohabition, or marriage for the Alimony to be modified.

To modify alimony based upon cohabitation, you must show that the living arrangements cause such a change of circumstances as to alter the financial needs of your former wife. Cohabitation alone, is not enough.
Before you go ahead and let her know you are aware of the cohabitation, you should consult with an experienced family law attorney. You may gain some advice that could lead to further prove your case before she gets wind that you have discovered the situation.
