I can't tell from the information in your message whether your matter is pending in Connecticut or Ohio. If it is Connecticut, five years is quite a while for most of the judicial districts. Most move more quickly than that. If the suit was brought close to the two year statute of limitation, then two years would have already gone by. If your husband's treatment went on for a long time, that can extend things. The Connecticut Judicial Branch has a great web site where you can find your case and see what has been happening from a pleadings point of view. It does seem unusual that you would not have had a pre-trial or two before now. Have depositions been done? Your attorney should be speaking with you about the value of the case.
