Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut
Auto ownership- Loan vs. Title
My boyfriend bought me a new car 1 1/2 yrs. ago. His name is on the loan. My name is on the Title and I pay the insurance and taxes and all usual upkeep plus I've installed some extras. We are now separated. If he fails to pay on the loan, what happens to the car. What are my rights?
Can the car be repo'ed without my knowledge?

The auto can be repossessed as it is the security for the loan. Dennis P. McDonough

Why do you think your name is on the title? The loan company has the title and I would expect that they would have had your boyfriend's name on the title to protect their collateral.
