Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut
Filing suit against an attorney
Is there a way to sue an attorney for damages to my case without filing the regular, $225 for a civil suit? I have a proponderence of evidence against an attorney who has caused serious damage to my original case and left me holding the bag for his actions... Please, don't advise with respect to the Grievance Committee--I need to collect monetary damages from an attorney. Thanks

Depending on the amount in dispute, you could file in small claims. That means, you can only recover up to 5,000 in small claims. The filing fee is only $35. Other than that, look at the 225 as an investment in a lawsuit with the potential to make money in the end. This is of course assuming you have a valid case.
