Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

Motion to open judgement

I was awarded a judgement of dismissal in a civial case back in Novermber 2007 since the plaintiff failed to appear for a pre-trial conference. I have found out that the plaintiff has submitted a motion to open judgement. What are the chances a judge will grant the motion? Does the plaintiff need to have a valid reason for not showing up to the pre-trial hearing?

Re: Motion to open judgement

Yes, the plaintiff needs a valid reason for missing the pretrial. That being said, judges are fairly liberal in granting motions to open.
