Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Connecticut

restraining order / slander

my sister filed for a restraining order against her husband. The judge dismissed the case, but at the hearing she said he threated to kill her in front of me(he didn't). Now he wants to get a lawyer to subpeona me and sue her for money based on slander. Is this possible?

Re: restraining order / slander

It's possible, but I would be surprised if he went through with it. It's very expensive to sue someone and if he didn't sustain any damages (which I suspect he didn't) then it would cost him more than it's worth.

Just my opinion.
