Legal Question in Immigration Law in Connecticut
Ending marriage
I had entered legally on a visitors visa and overstayed for a number of years before I married an American Citizen. I applied for a green card and got my work permit. However its been only a few months of our marriage and it does not seem to be working out as we have our differences. I was wondering what my options were if we were to get a divorce and I wanted to stay in the country legally. Please advise

Re: Ending marriage
Yes, you would need to be married to qualify for the green card since there will be an interview where both spouses appear. There are other issues however. Please feel free to contact me at (860) 524-5141 for a consultation.
