Legal Question in Employment Law in Connecticut
Agreement between parties for promomotional hiring
I was verbally offered a salary package for a new position within my company. I verbally agreed informing both my new supervisor and the HR contact. I requested a letter in writing stating the salary offer for the position which was sent as a ''confirmation'' of the verbal agreement. I verbally agreed and accepted the salary provisions outlined in writing. Two weeks later I received a letter stating that there was an error in the offer and they confirmed a new salary package. I immediately let them know I would again accept the first ''contract'' as valid. Now my paycheck reflects a salary package I did not agree to, what can I do about any of this, and do I need a lawyer.

Re: Agreement between parties for promomotional hiring
From your paragraph it appears that you would have a valid claim. The best thing to do would be to have an attorney act as a middle man and try to negotiate the issue especially if you want to continue working for the company. Speak to human resources and if you are getting the run around hire an attorney to write a letter.
