Appealing for Unemployment Benefits
I recently quit my job because my manager was verbal abusive to me. Before a started the job he made a verbal agreement with me regarding a management position with office detailed work. When I started the job itself, itwas completely opposite than what he had stated for the position. He failed to mention the physical aspects of the job lifting boxes 30-40lb. When I was there for a year there was not management position or office oriented work. I asked him several times for help, he stated he could not afford to give me help. I filed for unemployment benefits and I was denied for the fact they stated I left suitable work under disqualifying circumstances. During the unemployment hearing the manager did not state any of the facts I mention and did not rebutt any statements I made. I'm currently seeking work right now but I have no financial income right now. I received the Notice of Decision letter 11/7/2002 and appealled yesterday on the Connecticut Dept. of Labor website....Can I win my appeal for unemployment benefits? Thank you,,,

It certainly cannot hurt to appeal. However, given the facts you describe you may have a hard time winning.
