Laid off without basis

Dear, Sir or Lady:

I live in Connecticut and in January I was laid off from my job (After 4 years of employment) because my position was eliminated. There were no reasons for my laid off. My employer still needs my work, it's not lack of money, and my employer isn't moving out of area. Also, according to letter of recommendation from my supervisor, I didn't have any personal issues with my coworkers or users of my services.

At this time my employer tries to hire other people to do my job and they will be paid more then I was paid.

Can you advise me on legal steps I can take to get my job back or to get compensation?

You need to determine the real reason for your termination. You can start by doing some investigative work including talking with your former co-employees. Once you determine the reason for termination then you can take appropriate action.
