Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut

hi

i was arrested for an old trafic violation that stemed from 2004-2005 i am currently on the public housing progran known as section 8. i was made aware that i am at risk for loosing my bennifits even tho it is a misdomeanor and was so many years ago because i took the states plea agreement which was 1 yr probation but i do not have to report to a probation officer. is this legle and what can i do to fight it?
