Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
do you have to evict your adult children or can asking them to leave suffice. We allowed our 28 year old son to temporarily move in with us and it is now 10 months later and he refuses to pay rent. When we ask him to leave our home and seek another residence, he refuses and says, "evict me"

Unfortunately, you have to evict him. Go down to the housing court, or you can obtain the forms online at the CT Judicial Branch website. Just because he doesn't pay rent, doesn't mean he has to leave when you ask him.
