Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
Landlord sells - verbal lease
My landlord is selling the two family house I rent an apt in. I will be moving out when I close on my own house May 26. If the landlord closes on his sale in May, and I have already given him May's rent, can the new owners increase May's rent and what happens to my security deposit? Should the current owner give that back to me before they leave?

The landlord must give your security deposit to new owner until you vacate. The new owner can not increase your lease unless he gives you 30 days notice (assuming you do not have a lease).
