Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
Landlord/Tenant Dispute URGENT
I got stuck in my driveway yesterday, due to my driveway not being shoveled or plowed--it has about 4-5 inches of snow or ice. I contacted my landlord about this...and she told me that I am responsible. I pulled documents off the state's website saying otherwise..but she doesn't want to listen. Now she is threatening to raise my rent, since my boyfriend (who does still reside with his parents) has been staying over although none of his stuff is there, and still saying that I (and my roomate who IS on the lease) are supposed to be taking care of the driveway. My roomate's and my own cars are now parked on the street since we are unable to get them back into the driveway. My apartment is two bedrooms.

Re: Landlord/Tenant Dispute URGENT
Normally, the landlord is responsible for maintaining the common areas, such as a driveway, unless you contract otherwise. It may turn on the terms of your lease. If you need further help, you can email me at [email protected]
