Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
Real Estate Tax on Rental Property
I rent a store on 1/2 acre lot. My lease requires me to pay the real estate tax. I have paid the tax for 22 years. I only have use of 22% of the 1/2 acre. The landlord uses 78% of the 1/2 acre and has received considerable revenue. What can I do to get back this overpayment of real estate tax? Does this consitute Fraud?

It sounds like you may need to renegotiate your lease. I doesn't sound like fraud. If you are supposed to have use of the entire property then you may have an action for damages for the landlord using the space. But if you are supposed to pay the taxes, that is your responsibility.
