Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
I own rental property in CT. A marshall served my tenant with a Summary Process Execution for Possession today. The tenant has until midnight 9/7 to vacate. The marshall says if the tenant doesn't move I have to give him $1000 to pay movers to remove the tenant. State Statutes indicate that the marshall must contact the CEO of the City 24 hrs in advance. The CEO will designate where the tenants possessions are to be taken to for storage. Is it true that I have to pay the movers?

Yes, you are 100% financially responsible for paying the Marshal for the cost of the execution, just as you would be 100% financially responsible if you paid an attorney to handle the eviction.
