Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Connecticut
If you are renting a house without a lease and you are getting evicted can the homeowner contact the superintendent of schools and tell them that you are getting evicted and that your children should not be allowed in that town's school sytem?

Although it's a pretty lousy thing to do, if it's the "truth" then I can't think of a reason why he/she can't. However, being evicted takes some time, and until you don't live there anymore, the children can still go to that school. Furthermore, just because one is evicted, doesn't mean they will not find another place in the same school district. Therefore, the landlord's statement may be "false" (and premature) and grounds for a defamation suit against the landlord. Talk to a lawyer.
