Legal Question in Military Law in Connecticut
Entry Level ''Uncharacterized'' Military Separation
I received an Entry Level separation from the military 17 years back. The discharge was classified as uncharacterized. I was under the asumption that this type of military seperation equated to not having served active military. I am now apply for a job where this question is being asked and wondering if it is accceptable to answer no or am I required to disclose with a yes? Thanks.

Re: Entry Level ''Uncharacterized'' Military Separation
The legally correct answer is yes, that you did serve in the military, but only for a very brief period and that you received an uncharacterized discharge. It would be up to you if you wanted to disclose to the employer the underlying reason for the discharge.
