Legal Question in Military Law in Connecticut

Navy discharge

Q: If my son is out of the Navy 8/31 must he remain in RI until the trial & find a place to stay/work there?

Q: Is there an appeal process with the Navy? Jimmy thought he would go thru' the civil court, and then the military justice system. Why don't they wait for the outcome of the civil courts?

Q: Jimmy really wants to be in the Navy. Is there a way to reapply?

My son may be discharged on Aug 31 from the Navy. They have said that he will get a ''general discharge''.

He is awaiting a civil trial in Westerly, RI, for a felony of B & E on July 21, 2007. (his first offense) Because the judge who hears felonies covers four different counties, my son does not even have a trial date yet.

We sent money to hire a civilian lawyer, David Gervasini, in Westerly RI, who I found on the internet.

My son just completed Submarine School in Groton, CT. (1st class). He celebrated with a couple of class-mates on a beach in Westerley, RI. One of his ''friends'' had said that he knew a girl who had a beach house where they could stay for the night. Evidently, this kid broke a back window and let them in the front door. Main culprit fled the scene when police showed next day and is now awol. Other buddy got discharged from Navy on Friday.
