No Fault Pain and suffering

I am a Connecticut resident who was in an auto accident in NY state. I was hit from behind, and that driver left the scene of the accident. Therefore the no fault portion of my policy is covering the expenses. It has been several months since the accident and I still have neck/back pain, and tingling in arms and hands. The insurance rep took a statement from me a couple weeks after the accident and said to get back to her when I was better so they could reimburse me for any expenses and pain and suffering. What should I expect for pain and suffering from this type of accident? What about lost opportunity at work? I missed 3 weeks of work, and subsequently lost the opportunity to take a new position. I am still eligible but must wait for a new slot to open.

Hit and run accidents are covered by your uninsured motorist insurance. You are entitled to compensation for any damages suffered as a result of the other driver's fault, up to the limits of your policy, minus any applicable off sets or credits. Lost wages? Lost opportunities? Yes, you're entitled to be compensated for those as long as you can reasonably prove them! Good luck, and keep an eye out for those NY drivers!
