Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

i bought a house with my brother 7 years ago in connecticut. his name is on mortgage ,we had a lawyer prepare a quit claim so that i would have half interest int the house ,i never filed with town. my question is does a quit claim have an expiration

No. You can still record it on the land records.
