Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

buying a home

I am purchasing a home and due to business reasons I would like to obtain a mortgage in my name and place the home in my children's names. I do not want to purchase it and then claim it to my children I would like to have the deed placed in their name at the time of closing. Is that something that can be done?

Thank you

Re: buying a home

It can be done. You'll need a flexible lender, though. Probably a local bank or savings bank that keeps its own loans rather than selling them in the secondary market. You'd have to sign the note, of course, and there's the question of who signs the mortgage for the children. Easy if they're over 18; trickier if they're minors.
