Condominium boards

My condominium board disqualified and shredded my ballot to a condo community vote because I removed the return mailing address from the return envelop they provided. Thye claim I have o right to deface the envelop provided. The ballot arrived Nowhere is it in writing that this is thier practice and thye do not feel it is necessary to inform residents beofre hand that they will enforce this practice. What are my rights and recourses?
