Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

CT Quitclaim deed

In 2000 I filed a quitclaim deed adding my son as an owner along with me to my home. I now need to file another quitclaim deed removing him as an owner of my home leaving me the sole owner. Will there be a gift/inheritance or any tax due as a result of this transaction? In 2000 it was a no money transaction an will be a no money transaction now as well.

I wouldn't think so, but you should ask a CPA.

Re: CT Quitclaim deed

Unless your estate is well into the millions, there won't be any gift or inheritance issues. However, YOU can't file a deed taking him off the title to the property. HE has to sign a quit-claim deed back to you (and you can't force him to do it, either).
