Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Estate

My mom sold her house, as is, at a very low price. The buyer bought it for 240,000 dollars (in good condition a 500,000 home). I was there taking out the last of the stuff (a water bed), the buyer was there (the house was now his) and said that we should have had him clear it all, becuase it would have been cheaper for us. He also said though, that it was good that we took it all out, becuase he would have fined us if it was left, but then proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't fine us now. The only things left were carpeting and the washer/dryer, fridge, and stove. When I got my Mom's check, there was an extra $8,000 taken out of the total for clean up fees without her concent. No one asked/told her it was happeing. The buyer also said, with the real estate agent present, that he was paying my Mom less moeny, because he had to demolish the house, which he never did. I have called the lawyer 3 times and he has yet to call me back. He called my Mom and told her to cash the check. (we had a lawyer present to take care of leans on the house, all of that went fine) I am calling the lawyer this week telling him that my Mom will not cash the check until this issue is cleared. What is my Mom's rights? What can she do?

Re: Estate

Your question is broad. For an explanation of your mom's rights, I would need alot more space to type into. In any event, if you have hired an attorney, he should be able to answer all of your questions. If he doesn't return your calls, can someone else in his office help you?

If the current arrangement is not working for you, you should contact me at www.findctlawyer.com or at [email protected].
