Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

My friend took my ipod touch (worth about $250) a couple of days ago without my permission and refused to give it back to me. Additionally, he changed the password, making it impossible for me to use it. He claims that it had gotten stolen yesterday, yet made absolutely no effort to report it or recover it. He refuses to pay me back for the amount that he stole from me and I was wondering if this was a case eligible to bring to a small claims facility. He is currently on probation and I was wondering if this would incarcerate him. Please get back to me as soon as you can, as this is very important to me.

It is a small claims case. Your problem is going to be proving your claim. Maybe Apple could trace the ipad through GPS.
