joint tenancy - ownership if one party pays taxes
parcel of land is owned in joint tenancy, one owner has paid the taxes for the last 20 years, other owners have SAID they don't care about the land. What right does the tax payer have? Can he claim ownership?

I believe that you can't "adversely possess" against joint owners. See if they will quitclaim the property to you. If not, you would have to bring a partition action to force a sale or division of the property. You could probably claim a credit for the taxes you paid.

You could seek a partition (split) of the property, or maybe get the orther owner to quit-claim his/her interest to you. Give me a call and we can discuss your options.
