Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Lease Terms

my lease says I ''agree to pay electric, telephone, and other applicable utilities''. My landlord is trying to make me pay for water, sewer, garbage pickup, all of which are not specifically listed in the lease. I'm at my wits end!! Please help, I can't afford what he is adding on

"Utilities" include (hot) water, electricity (if separately metered), gas (if separately metered), telephone, cable, internet. Garbage, sewer, etc., are not utilities for which you should be charged. Tell the landlord to go ask his lawyer.
