Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

I live in a CT Condominium complex that has been recently "sided". They are restricting us from putting anything up on this siding including our own American Flag. I own the condo, I do not rent.

As a US Citizen, is there any legal action that I can take?

Actually, Congress passed a law called "Freedom to Display the American Flag Act 2005."

The condo association can not prohibit you from flying the flag on residential property that you have exclusive use and possession of. The question becomes, is the "sided" portion of the condominium considered exclusively owned by each member or is it common property. The answer to this question may depend on the location of the "sided" portion that you wish to hang the flag on.

My guess is that you should be permitted to fly the flag on your deck or patio since only you use that portion of the condo.

You may need to contact an attorney to determine exactly where you can fly the flag on the "sided" portion of the building.
