how long does someone elses property have to stay in my home before it becomes mine, The person has left my home?

That depends. If the person was considered a "tenant" then 30 days. He/she need not have had to pay rent to be a "tenant." Otherwise, 6 months.
There are other notice requirements that must be followed, but it would depend on which category that person fell under.
