quick claim deed contract broken

I signed quit claim deed to remove myself from property of ex-boyfriend

during refinancing saying I received 10,000 for it. Attorney said I'd get

money next day after he files paperwork with town. He gave my money to ex

boyfriend instead and now he is not giving me the money. Is this contract

void if he does not pay?

It may be for several reasons.However,if there is a written contract,it needs to be reviewed. Also,is the attoney liable for giving the wrong party the money. Dennis P. McDonough
