Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Quick Claim Deeds

I've recently divorced and I'm required per our agreement to Quick Claim the home we jointly owned over to my ex-wife. All the forms I've seen have a blank asking for a fee. Is this a courtesy fee or is there a normal amount that is used?

Re: Quick Claim Deeds

I'm not sure what your question is. Sometimes a quitclaim deed is drafted stating that the property is transferred in exchange for $1.00, otherwise, it may be the amount that the grantee paid for the property.

There is a fee to record the quit claim deed on the land records. This fee goes to the office where it is recorded.
