Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

real estate contract

My son has a contract to purchase a home. He is already approved and just waiting to close. The bank keeps postponing the closing stating that they are overwhelmed with applications and process them in order of receipt. He is worried about being in default of his contract. My son, the buyer and the sellers are very upset. What can the seller do and can my son (the buyer) do to get this bank to set a date and commit to it! Does my son have any recourse against the institution. Who can he contact for help. If they are so busy then they should hire more people.

Re: real estate contract

These are extraordinary times when it comes to real estate transactions. Your complaint is common right now and I'm not sure there is anything you can do if you really want this house. All I can say is be patient or try another lender.
