Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

Real Property

My neighbors trees hang over my property and prevent me from driving my tractor under them to cut my grass. The previous owners let me cut the branches. The new owners had a fit when I cut them. I had been doing it foe the past fifteen years and did not think to ask. Am I legally allowed to trim these trees? Thank-you ~Larry
