Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut
Is there any way to get rid of a timeshare. I realize they are a very stupid thing to have purchased, and now we desparately need to be rid of it. I have been told that you can never get rid of it , or return it or foreclose on it, or sell it, etc. It is an albatross and now that my husband has lost his job and we will never use this wasted piece of 'property' I am actually frightened to think that we are stuck with it - even past our death. Is there any way to be done with it?
I now really feel this is one of the most unethical if not bordering on illegal scams out there. Yet they are still conning suckers into them every hour of every day. Why is this allowed to continue?
Sorry for the tangent, but again HOW do I get rid of a timeshare?

My understanding is that you can sell it. You need to speak to the timeshare company. You also may be able to sell it yourself. You should have the appropriate paperwork.
Go on line. There are outfits which will buy almost any time share. Of course, they are after the easy buck, so don't look for a decent price. If the sole object is to just get rid of the damn thing, Google or Bing "we buy time shares" or the like and I'll bet you find someone.
