Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut
septic company liability
Ten years ago the septic tank at my house was moved to within 7 feet of a huge tree. When I bought the house in 1996, I was told the tank was fine. Now the septic compnay is telling me that it needs to be moved and They said that they should not have put it within 10 feet of a tree. My yard is 3/4 of an acre and has no other trees except this huge one in the center. Since they are supposedly the professionals, do I have any legal right to expect them to pay for at least part of the cost of the removal of the tree? THe owner could not give me a reason for the new sight of the tank.
Thank you!

Re: septic company liability
You might be able to get them to pay for it, but I'd bet the Statute of Limitations has passed. (It's 7 years).
