Septic vs Sewer

I recently bought a house. The real estate listing indicated city sewers. While remodeling I discover septic and no sewer hookup. The real estate agent agreed to pay half the cost and did. Is the seller liable for the difference? What is my recourse?

How long ago was the purchase and what did the seller put on the Sellers' Disclosure form? If the seller lied on the form, you can certainly sue.
