Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

should sisters split bills

my grandfather just passed away. we have lived in his house for 13 years with him.before my grandmother died in 1998 she put the house into their 4 daughters names. we just found out 2 days ago that it had finished going through probate years ago. one sister (my mother) still lives in the house. should the 3 sisters that don't live in the house still have to pay my grandfathers mortgage and house taxes from the time it finished through probate. i think they should have to split the costs of the mortgage and taxes 4 ways. are the others responsible for paying these even if they dont live there. the house is still in the four of their names. they want us to either move out of the house and sell it or one of us get a mortgage on it and pay them off. our house needs new everything and is not worth very much money. if they owe for the other costs i don't think they are really owed anything. please, any advice you can give me to keep them out of our house and from them putting us out in the street with no where to go. thank you

Re: should sisters split bills

The 4 owners should split the mortgage, taxes, insurance and capital repairs. Your mother should pay them fair market rent, and pay the utilities and day-to-day maintenance.
