Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Connecticut

My uncle who owns 1/2 of the house, and I own 1/6th enforce a lease he had me sign a year ago? He wants to sell the house now, and wants to deduct 8 months of rent from it... I was told by a legal clerk in the housing office that having a lease on property own isn't valid or legal. Could someone clarify this? Im in Connecticut.

I believe the more important question is that if you own a portion of that house, then he has to get your agreement to sell it, otherwise he has to go to court and file a partition action to force the sale. At that time the judge will look at everything and make a decision.

You don't have to sign anything including a listing agreement with a real estate agent or a contract for sale of the property.
