Legal Question in Traffic Law in Connecticut

Unfair CellPhone ticket

So I am a NJ driver and was driving on an interstate in Connecticut. The officer pulls me over and says that he saw me using a cell phone and makes up this story about how I put it down as soon as I saw him. But, here's the thing--I didn't touch my cell phone at all that whole morning and it was instead inside my bookbag. I told him that but he insisted that he'd seen me. I even said that he could check my call logs but he refused. And just to make sure that I pay some fine he also cited me for speeding (which I wasn't). How can I prove him wrong in both cases? W/ cellphone--I have the bill. Can I use the fact that he is a liar for the speeding violation? And isn't this fact horrible--to be so unfairly cited for something you defn. did not do? Maybe its because I am out-of-state and thus and easy catch...

Re: Unfair CellPhone ticket

You can certainly contest the legality of the tickets you received. The state will have to prove certain elements before you are found liable for the tickets if you plead not guilty. If you need further help, you can email me at [email protected].
