Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Am I allowed to see the Will?

Both of my grandparents passed away and I was told since I was a little girl that they had left me something special, so I asked my Uncle who says he is the ''executor'' and he said everything was left to him?? My sister is in cahoots with my Uncle and made the comment that I would not be getting anything, I only wanted some sheet Music and that is all and I can not even get that.

Do I have a right to see my Grandparents will? where do I find it?

I just need some sort of resolution to this, my heart has been broken. My grandmother passed away in 2001 and my grandfather last year. How can I see if another will has been done or revised?

I just want the truth to come out and stop everyone from being so greedy.

Please help me, I just want Justice to let My Grandparents rest in Peace.

Thank you

Re: Am I allowed to see the Will?

The will, if there is one and it has been submitted to the probate court, is a public document and you have a right to see it. However, if everything was in joint names (with your aunt and/or uncle, for example) then nothing passes by way of the will. Or if they were on title XIX (in a nursing home), there may be nothing left.

Go to the Surrogates court in the county where he lived and see if a will has been filed.
