Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Changing wills

My mom & dad wrote their will years ago.My mom has had a man move in off the internet. He is much younger than her, has very little and is now wanting her to change & include him in her will.Apparantly she says she is doing this. How easy is it for her to change her will from her children to this gentleman?Do I have any rights?

Re: Changing wills

It's very easy for Mom to change her will. A will she made years ago with your Dad isn't a contract or anything that can't be re-done whenever she wants. She can leave the children out of the will; the only person one can't disinherit is a spouse. The only recourse you might have is the claim the boyfriend exercised "undue influence" over her, but that's tough to prove. Just be nice to her and hope she treats her children favorably in her will.
