Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

Contest a beneficiary

My sister of 38 years of age passed away three weeks ago. She had recently broken up with her long term partner, who in turn had moved out of her life. However because of the sudden nature of her death she had not had a chance to remove his name as beneficiary from things like 401k. Bank accounts. ect, as she would have wanted.

Do we have any recourse to put the matter right.

Re: Contest a beneficiary

You should note that a lot of those assets pass outside of an estate and therefore automatically vest to either the joint bank account holder or the named beneficiary. A contest is possible however presents difficult hurdles to overcome.

I will require additional details to properly assess your case and invite you to contact me to discuss them at your convenience.

Kind regards,
